'Outside In'
Horses have been successfully used in psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) for years, which uses the horse as a medium to help heighten social and emotional learning and increase mindfulness in our young children.
Our ‘Outside-In’ clinics provide a relaxed and caring environment where everyone is supported. The group will experience a range of individual and team building equine activities, encouraging all to join in. Basic horsemanship and riding skills being a highlight in most sessions.
Cost: Our EAL lessons are $120 each.

6 week course
Our clinics focus on developing understanding in the below areas:
Week 1
Regulation (the calm state) - learning to regulate emotions
Week 2
Mindfulness (awareness) - being aware, and being in the moment
Week 3
Setting boundaries - it is important to set boundaries between a horse and rider, the same as setting personal boundaries in life.
Week 4
Relationship building - this focuses around commitment, compromise, forgiveness and most of all, effort.
Week 5
Emotional intelligence - being aware of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours towards ourselves and others.
Week 6
Leadership - taking charge of situations, building confidence and giving clear directions. This translates to both working with horses, and in our own lives.
EAL instructor Andrea Hegmann holds her Graduate Diploma of Counselling.
